The beloved actress Carrie Fisher, who became famous with her role in ‘Star Wars’ as Princess Leia died on 27th of December, at the age of 60.

While she was on a United Airlines flight from London to Los Angeles on Friday, December 23, she had a cardiac arrest near the end of the trip.  She was brought into the nearby UCLA Medical Center as soon as the plane landed, where she was treated for a heart attack.

Unfortunately, she died on Tuesday morning in the hospital in Los Angeles, four days after the cardiac episode on the flight.

Ms. Fisher, who played Princess Leia in Star Wars and she was actually adored by many fans. Star Wars was released in 1977 and Fisher made her debut as Princess Leia Organa in Episode IV; a New Hope, when she was just 21 years old and soon she became an international star.

The film was written and directed by George Lucas, breaking a number of box office record. She played the role remarkably well, as a tough person who could deal in a great way, whether facing Darth Vader or the romantic interest of Han Solo.

The most important thing is that she never played Leia, as a helpless person. Instead she made her look a tough person.

Her Life

Carrie Frances Fisher was born in California on 21st October 1956. She was the daughter of screen legend and actress Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher.

She married in 1983 the musician Paul Simon, but they divorced in 1984 and she has one daughter Billie Lourd.

Apart from her best known role in the Star Wars film series, she also played in other films, like Shampoo (1975), starring Warren Beatty and Julie Christie (her debut film), as well as Hannah and her Sisters (1986) and When Harry met Sally (1989).

Through her life, she was also known for her writing semi-autobiographical novels, such as the; postcards from the Edge’, as well as a non-fictions book, under the title ‘Wishful Drinking’, which was based on the show.

Moreover, she also worked helping other writers with their screenplays. The last years of her life, she was brave enough to speak publicly about her bad experiences in her life, like her drug addiction problems.

She had already completed to take part in the upcoming 8th episode of the main Star Wars saga, which is going to be released by the end of the next year (December 2017).  So, if you are a fan of Carrie, you’ll get the chance to see her once more.

Although a spokeswoman from Disney didn’t want to comment on whether Leia is going to appear in more episodes after Episode VIII. Some of her fans suggested that the famous singer Stevie Nicks could play her role in the next episodes, while some others speculate that Leia has to die.
