Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) is held once in every two years and is the world’s biggest multinational maritime exercise. It is organized by US Pacific Fleet and executed by U.S. 3rd Fleet. This is a maritime exercise which provides participation for many different nations.
Rim of the Pacific is held in the Hawaiian Islands and gives an exceptional training opportunity, which helps the participant countries develop cooperative relationships in order to ensure the safety and security of world’s seas and oceans, as well as strengthen military-to-military partnerships between nations.
Rim of the Pacific began in 1971, so this year’s RIMPAC2016 is the 25th exercise in its series. Canada, the United States and Australia are the only countries that have participated in each exercise since Rim of the Pacific inception.
During Exercise Rim of the Pacific 2016, 40 Military Ships and Submarines from 13 nations Steam In Close formation. RIMPAC2016 includes forty-five surface ships, more than two hundred aircraft, five submarines and over twenty-five thousand personnel from twenty-six countries of the world. The personnel from Canada, New Zealand, People’s Republic of China, India, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Malaysia, Thailand, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and some other countries participate in RIMPAC2016.
Rim of the Pacific 2016 exercise is operating from June 30 through August 4.
Armed forces of various nations participate in military training’s and military exercises, including US Military.
