Saglana Salchak is a brave heart at such a tender age to have the audacity to walk alone at dawn when the temperature was minus 34 and proved to be a hero.

Everyone is shocked at this attempt of the girl as the nearest village is 12 miles while the closest neighbor is at 5 miles. One morning when she found her grandmother cold and non-reactive, she after consultation with her blind grandfather headed to the closest neighbor to find help.

She was neither obstructed by wild wolves nor did snow bother her. She was definitely the luckiest and a charmer to the village. The head of the Regional Search and Rescue Group, Semyon Rubstov said, “Tuva village is always surrounded by wolves” and it is strange that Saglana had no difficulty is crossing the 5 miles distance.

She only had a matchbox to keep her warm in case. While she walked the distance and was about to just cross the closest neighbor, she caught the attention of the neighbor who helped her in calling on the doctor. They reached to find out that her grandmother had given up on life.

After this sad demise of her beloved grandmother, she caught a cold and was admitted to the local hospital. She is now residing at a social center where she is enjoying. She recently celebrated her fifth birthday. The Local media calls her “Hero” and eventually she has become the talk of the town.

The Social policy ministry has offered her to visit a sanatorium accompanied by her mother. Her mother and her step-father live by herding cattle.

It is a strange discovery by the media and journalists that the village where she lived with her grandparents was barred from any form of rural development. There is no phone or internet connection even in this age of technology. It is hence concluded that it is not the girl’s mother who is a criminal but the authorities that have devoid the village of these facilities.

After this, we hope that the village develops and no such young feet walk this distance just to find another person.
