Atal Bihari Vajpayee And Madan Mohan Malviya, Names Announced For The Bharat Ratna

Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister of India; and Freedom fighter Madan Mohan Malviya, the educationist, are chosen for the country’s highest civilian award “Bharat Ratna.” The announcement is made just the day before Vajpayee’s 90th birthday. These men really did great work for the country. Most of the Indians were waiting for this news since many years.
The reports from Rashtrapati Bhawan state that “The honorable President, Mr. Pranab Mukharjee is excited for the award ceremony. India’s magnetic leader Mr. Vajpayee is popular for her contribution in Indian politics. He is known as the strong pillar of Bhartiya Janta Party. Vajpayee is sick since long time. He does not attend any meetings, conferences. But he is still strong and always will be. Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayeeattempt to bridge Indo-Pak differences.
Mr. Vajpayee is the longest serving Prime Minister who is not from the congress party. People even called him a ‘Mask’ of RSS (Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh). Several leaders and Members of parliament demanded that the top honor should be given to Mr. Vajpayee. Shiv Sena too supported the pole about honoring Vajpayee with Bharat Ratna.
Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya was a great freedom fighter, educationist in India. One of the Malviya’s major achievements is known as the establishment of Banaras Hindu University. Malviya was born on December 26, 1861. Immediately after his first speech at the congress session held in the state of Kolkata in the year 1886, the man was projected into political arena. Pt. Malviya is always remembered for his major role in the great independence movement. His support for Hindu Nationalism is being honored by many politicians. Malviya was one of the initial and most essential leaders of Hindu Mahasabha.
The recommendation of ‘Bharat Ratna’ award was made by several ministers, social activists, MLAs and MPs along with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When the UPA government had declared Bharat Ratna for cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and scientist CNR Rao, BJP criticized Congress for ignoring Vajpayee’s contribution to the nation.
P.M. Modi said in an interview that “Bharat Ratna being conferred on Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya & Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee is a matter of great delight.”
